My Travel Bucket List

My Japan Trip is coming up soon and I’m super excited. However, the big question I have for myself is, “Where to next?”. I’ve been so focused on going to Japan for so many years that I haven’t really thought about other countries. Japan has been my main goal for most of my life and now that I’m about to go, I need to figure out which countries I want to visit next. I thought putting a list together would be a great way to not only put my thoughts in one place but also to share it with others. So here we go, my travel bucket list!

I was born in England but somehow my family and I never made it to Scotland! My favorite accent is the Scottish accent and I really want to hear people talk. Seeing all the castles would be amazing and I want to see the countryside. I’m more focused on the historical side of Scotland. It’s such a beautiful country full of so much history, I can’t wait to go! Some famous places I’d like to visit are: Edinburgh Castle, Loch Lomond, Loch Ness, Isle of Skye, and Scotland’s Castle Trail.

Again, my family and I never made it to Ireland even though we were so close to it! Ireland is another beautiful country filled with so much history. I want to go on a hiking tour or walking tour and explore the countryside. I’d love to visit: The Cliffs of Moher, Grafton Street, Bunratty Castle, Galway, The Rock of Cashel, The Giant’s Causeway, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Italy is a  beautiful country, it’s one of the most romantic countries in the world. Whenever I go I hope to see Rome, Venice, and Pompeii. I’d also love to see: Galleria Dell’Accademia, Milan, Napels, The Leaning Tower of Pisa, St. Mark’s Basilica, Sicily and the Villa d’Este.

Greece is so beautiful with its whitewashed buildings and views of the ocean. I want to go a see the marketplaces, eat amazing seafood, and enjoy the laid-back lifestyle. I want to see: Athens, The Parthenon, The National Archaeological Museum, and Myrtos Beach.

When I was a child, my parents took me to Spain. I do not remember much and that is why I would love to go back. I can see the sites as an adult and visit historical sites and cities. I’d love to go to: Giralda, Seville Cathedral, Barcelona, Gothic Quarter in Barcelona, Palacio de Cristal, and Casa Batllo.

France is another country I went to as a child. I remember parts of it and I would like to go back again. I want to visit The Louvre, see the Eiffel tower, visit all the beautiful shops, and eat all the delicious food. I’d also like to visit: The Arc de Triomphe, Palace of Versailles, Notre-Dame de Paris, Month Saint-Michel, and the Catacombs of Paris.

Before I was born, my parents were stationed in Germany. Whenever they talk about it, their eyes light up, like it was some of the best years of their lives. They have such fun memories of things like the Christmas markets, the beer, the food, and all of the historical sites. I want to see it all and more, I hope to make it to Germany sometime in the next 10 years or so. Some famous sites I want to see are: Cologne Cathedral, Englischer Garten, Eltz Castle, Berlin Cathedral, Bastei, and Auschwitz.

Mexico is such a beautiful country, it’s also very ancient. The history there is amazing and I want to see all of the historical sites that I can. Some people have told me that I’m crazy to want to go to Mexico. There seems to be a fear of the rougher parts of Mexico, which I will try to stay away from. I will not let other peoples fears stop me from seeing such a beautiful country.

The beaches of Jamaica are some of the best in the world. I live on the gulf, our beaches are breathtaking. I want to see as many beaches as I possibly can and Jamaica’s beaches are on my list. Along with the history and food of Jamaica. When I go, I’m going to explore the country and enjoy its culture. I won’t stay at a resort and only see the country through a filtered lens.

Sweden is a country that I would love to visit during the summertime. Mostly because I don’t have any snow gear and I know they get a lot of snow. I don’t actually know a lot about Sweden, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to go! If I do ever go, I will do as much research as possible to get ready for my trip.

If there is one thing I love, it’s Thai food. It’s so spicy and delicious. When I make it to Thailand I will try all the street food that I can, I will also visit all the temples and historical sites.

And more….

This is only a small list of countries that I would love to visit. I have many more that I want to go to. I hope to at least go to every continent on this planet. I refuse to live my life being afraid to travel or try new things. Life is amazing and full of amazing experiences. One of the biggest mistakes that I believe a person can make is just staying in one spot their whole lives. If you can’t live in other places, visit them. You don’t have to move to another country or state to experience another way of life. We are all so different and that’s what makes the human race so beautiful. Step out of your comfort zone and go see the world!

Do you have a travel bucket list? If you do, what countries are on your list? I’d love to read about where you want to go.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a great day!
