Good Afternoon Everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well. About two months ago I started seeing a therapist again, she has been extremely helpful with my depression and just general state of mind. To help me reach my goals, she thought it would be helpful for me to write simple goals every month that I can achieve. I thought I’d share my goal lists with you every month! I’ll review my previous month’s list and share my new one with you every month.
Here is my August goal list:
- Go to a new fitness class
- Try out Barre
- Go to the gym twice a week
- Try a new outdoor activity
- Only eat four fast food meals for the whole month
- Lose three pounds
- Save $200
- Take a day to enjoy myself
- Go to a park
- Sleep in
- Read 1 book
There are 10 things on this list, and I plan on trying to do at least half of them. I’m not putting too much pressure on myself, I don’t need to complete all of them. However, I would like to. It’s only 4 days into August and I’ve already checked off one thing. I think that is a good start. I hope to check off all of these things! There is a mix of physical, mental and financial wellness with this list. Everything on this list will benefit me in one way or another.
By trying a new fitness class I’m hoping to find something I love so I won’t dread going to the class. This will lead me to work out more because I enjoy it. Going to the gym twice a week is not as often as I would like to go, but it builds up the habit of just going to the gym. Trying a new outdoor activity will get me active and outside on the weekends, which I really need to do. I become a potato on the weekend and I need to stop that if I really want to make a healthy lifestyle change. If I only eat four fast food meals throughout the month, that limits the amount of processed high-calorie foods that go in my body. I should stop feeling sluggish and heavy. Losing three pounds by the end of the month is heavily reliant on the first 4 goals on my list. If I can commit to a fitness class, go to the gym, go outside more and eat better, I’ll lose those three pounds easily.
The next goal is more of a financial/mental wellness goal, I want to save at least $200 by the end of the month. I have my Japan trip coming up and putting as much money to the side as I can stop myself from stressing out about it. The last four goals on my list are all there to help my mental health. Taking a day to enjoy myself will be spent relaxing and doing nothing except things I love. Going to the park will allow me to enjoy nature and feel great. Sleeping in is important because I never sleep in on the weekends, I’m always awake before 7 am and I never get to have lazy Sunday mornings. I’m extremely busy with my job, cleaning and meal prepping, I don’t ever just enjoy sleeping in. That is going to change, I will be sleeping in on a couple Sunday’s this month, and it will be amazing. Finally, I want to read one book. I love to read and I never seem to have time to do that. More than likely I’ll read that book on the day I take to enjoy myself, but I need to make sure I read it. These are my goals for the month! I hope to accomplish some if not all of them.
Are there any of you out there that make a monthly goal list? If you do, what type of goals do you have? If you don’t, do you think you might start? Thank you for reading! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
